Creative Writing Glasgow

Creative Writing short courses at the Centre for Lifelong Learning, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow

For those of you who are contemplating the mid-term assignment for the advanced course (particularly the 2 x 1000 words option), or for those who’ve just completed the beginners’ course and need something to keep them going, try this for inspiration:
The competition rules on the web page will tell you what’s required and there’s a link to images from the galleries’ collections if you can’t make it through to Edinburgh. Thanks to Ivor from the Kelvingrove class for flagging this up, and if you’re entering – good luck.
Also, we’ve been talking about research lately on the advanced course and Elizabeth H in the Friday class flagged up a series currently on Radio Scotland in which Louise Welsh discusses how today’s writers could tackle historical subjects. I haven’t had a chance to download it yet but Louise was one of the best tutors I had when I was a writing student at Glasgow Uni so I’m sure it’s well worth a listen.
Happy Christmas!
